The Eiffel Tower project

W o r k   i n   p r o g r e s s

Somewhere in the end of 2019 I was looking for a new project to fill my time between two commercials. Unfortunately I wasn't too happy with my thatched house - simply didn't feel familiar with the scenery, so I decided to interrupt and wait for some inspiration.

I decided to model the Eiffel Tower, Paris, including lots of details such as elevators, spiral stairs, even taking care of the rivets.

And I decided to create some convincing surrounding, such as greenery, city houses... try to catch some "Paris atmosphere". Surely not having the Tower placed in the midth of a great emptiness.

Of course this is gonna take some time - should keep me busy for the next months or even years. But who cares? It's just for private fun and will easily be interrupted, if necessary.

I suppose the whole project being a real challenge with lots of problems having to be solved, and I'm really looking foreward. Guess I'll learn a lot...

December 2019 I started modelling the landscape, and afterwards continued doing some Paris city houses whenever having some time off.

(Edit: It's September 2020 meanwhile, and I'm still modelling background houses. There's lots of them! But it's as well lots of fun.)

(Edit #2: I started modelling the Tower in November 2022. Now - Aug 2023 - the Tower is growing heavily. Time to add at least one render; more at my blog)

Just have a look at my Eiffel Tower blog.
